ARTIST STATEMENT:
Sound is the vocabulary of nature. The harmony and melody of nature is inspiration for my art. In this piece, the movement of the metal parts inside the stone sculpture brings our attention to the music gifted to us by nature.

Parastoo Ahovan is an Interdisciplinary artist living in NYC. She graduated with an MFA from Boston University in 2014. She works with various materials and multiple types of media, such as Sculpture, Painting, Installation, and Performance.
She has exhibited her works in National Pavilion of Iran; 56th Venice Biennial, Italy; EUNAM Museum, South Korea; Museo del Ojo, Argentina; and Festival Fleurs de Lava, France. She has participated in more than 10 international sculpture symposiums around the world and
her sculptures have been installed in urban space in Iran, Turkey, Spain, India, UAE, Italy, France, and China.
